Eye Tips During The Holiday Season

With the holiday season quickly approaching, vacations for many of us are getting close. But isn’t it always true that the most unexpected issues occur when your away from home? That can include eye emergencies and mishaps. Wouldn’t it be terrible to get to a vacation destination and not be able to see any of it? Here are a few helpful tips for making sure your holiday vacation is top notch and you miss nothing about it:

  • Be prepared. Take along a copy of your eyeglass prescription as well as an old pair of back-up eyeglasses. If you lose your glasses, you will be able to hand over your prescription to any optician and have a new pair made. Your back-up pair is another alternative will also come in handy while looking for an optician.
  • Stay in touch. Ask your eye doctor for a business card to keep in your wallet. If something happens to your eyes, at the very least, your hometown eye doctor will have your past records of examinations and eyeglass orders. Again, preparing for the unexpected is never a bad thing.
  • Bring your case. If you don’t wear your glasses at all times, it is essential that you bring your glasses case. Obviously, traveling with luggage means items may have shifted in transit. The last thing you want is to open your bag and find out your glasses are broken and better-yet, unfix-able! A case also helps identifying your glasses, if you should lose them when traveling. Depending on your frames, a case maybe easier to locate then the actual pair of glasses.

The end of the year is near and vacations are on the top of many minds! It would be terrible if you prepared so hard for it and then had problems seeing it. From your friends at OPTX 20/20 have a great holiday season!
