Shades and Skin Tones

Last week, we discussed how to choose the best pair of readers based off your hair color. This week we want help you choose the right pair of sunglasses based off of your skin tone.

First you need to determine your skin tone. You can do this easily by looking at the underside of your arm in natural daylight. If you have a pink or rosy undertone and blue-tinted veins you are a cool skin tone. In contrast if you have a golden or darker undertone and green-tinted veins, you are a more of a warm skin tone.

As a reference Actress Anne Hathaway and Singer Taylor Swift would be examples of a cool skin tone while Singer Beyonce and Actor Leonardo DiCaprio are more of warm skin tone people.

People with cooler skin tones should usually stick with shades that include blue or silver type frames. Switch in crystal blue with smoke lenses would be one great option for people with cold skin tones while Gear in yellow with green lenses would be a perfect compliment for those with warm skin tones.

Shades with black frames such as the Everest EcoClear model and ones with a clear or rimless look around the lenses such as the EyeDefend Denali are usually very universal and can work great in complimenting all skin tones.

What are you waiting for? Pick out a great, affordable pair that best suits YOU and start enjoying the great outdoors!
