You love the way your glasses look, feel and of course see out of. Having them get scratched for whatever reason though can be extremely frustrating. It could cause obstructive vision and make your glasses look bad on your face.
Instead of though rushing to purchase a new pair you may be able to deep clean the scratches using do-it-yourself cleaners.
One method includes 1 part warm water, 1 part rubbing alcohol and one 1 drop of soap. Combine the ingredients into a spray bottle and shake. Then spray directly on the damaged part of the lens. You should only need one squirt or so. Then wipe clean using a microfiber cloth. This is a great method for plastic lenses as well as most sunglasses.
If you have glass lenses you may want to try combining a quarter cup of rubbing alcohol, quarter cup of white vinegar, a tablespoon of cornstarch and 2 cups of warm water. Like in the above method put into a spray bottle and shake. After sprayed use a microfiber cleaning cloth to dry. While this method is usually used to clean mirrors and windows it may do the trick on your glass lenses.
Of course the easiest way to remove scratches is to not have them get scratched in the first place. Always use a case when not being worn and continue on a regular basis to keep them clean. If scratches still do occur, the above methods may help.
Happy vision, happy life!
