Face it, your readers no matter, how much they cost are an investment and the better care you take of them, the longer they will last year.
So what can you as a consumer do to keep your glasses working for a longer period of time? Here are a few quick tips:
- Keep them out of the heat. Not all, but a good majority of us wear glasses made from plastic. Plastic has the potential of melting which can cause your frames to become loose and flexible. Something you probably don’t want happening!
- Don’t keep the glasses lens down. While it’s often ignored, more and more people place their readers and other eyewear face down when not in use. This just leads to scratches and potentially even cracks. Instead, always keep them in a case when they’re not in-front of your eyes.
- Don’t keep them on your head when you’re not wearing them. While this may look stylish, it can actually do harm to your glasses. For one it can actually stretch out the frames and two, you potentially can risk your glasses from getting in contact with grease and oils that the top of your head creates from sweat as well as hair products.
While most of these tips are common sense, it can’t hurt to get reminded of them every once in while. The more you know, the longer your investments should last!
